QUADRI - CHIETI PROVINCE
Quadri is a beautiful village which nestles in the thick forests that surround the Sangro River valley. It was inhabited before Roman times as ruins of the Italic temple testify. The village, itself, is clustered around the remains of an old castle and there are a few historical monuments/relics to explore including churches, sanctuary, amphitheatre and baronial mansion.
The village holds festivals, each year, including both religious and gastronomic. One which takes place each August celebrates the economically important white truffle. In fact, Quadri is registered on the list of ‘Borghi del Tartufo’.
The population of 736 people has access to several food shops, a bank, post office, chemist, restaurants and bars. Every Saturday, the town hosts a bustling market, selling local produce.
