Situated between Bisenti and Castiglione Messer Raimondo, just a few steps from the beautiful Appignano hilltop historical village, we are offering this lovely country house completely restored.
The house has a floor area of about 184 square metres and is surrounded by 20,000 square metres of land. There also is a 43 square metres agricultural outbuilding with a fireplace, temporarily used as a store room but it would be a lovely accommodation for guests. A centuries-old oak tree frames the charm of this stone house.
On the GROUND FLOOR there is a large kitchen with a dining room and fireplace, a wooden armoured door opening onto the veranda, hallway, bathroom, and a store room. In total there are three accesses into the garden, all of them with wooden doors.
Leading to the first floor is a comfortable marble staircase with handmade iron railing.
On the FIRST FLOOR we have two large double bedrooms and one single bedroom, bathroom and a panoramic balcony.
The fixtures are wooden, as are the armoured doors, the ground floor vaulted ceilings show the original sandblasted bricks.
Outside there is a small wood-burning oven.
Central heating is by LPG, and water and electricity are connected to the main services.
This is a genuine natural oasis with a great view to the valley.
The access road is very well maintained.
CASTIGLIONE MESSER RAIMONDO - TERAMO PROVINCE
A typical medieval village, located on a narrow hill overlooking the Fino River and dominated by the majestic Gran Sasso massif.
This fortified town is 306 metres above sea level and boasts an ancient history. Local archaeological remains prove that is was inhabited since pre-Roman times. Since then, the prominence of medieval sandstone buildings ensure that it retains a characterful appearance.
With a population of 2,285, the town has a couple of restaurants, bars, grocery store, butcher, bank, post office and pharmacy. There is also a weekly market.
August is the time for celebrations with the Feast of San Donato at the beginning of the month and the festival celebrating Pecorino cheese and other local dishes at the end.
Castiglione Messer Raimondo can be reached by bus or train from Teramo.
